A succubus is the female version of an incubus. Succubi are often described as beautiful voluptuous women and they interact sexually with living men. All accounts of incubus and succubus encounters have taken place at night.

An example of a well-documented case of this type of haunting occurs at The Ancient Ram Inn in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, where the owner tells me he has been the victim of the succubus' presence. He recalls physically wrestling the 'thing' off him as it was an extremely strong and muscular entity. He also stated that he thinks it was a male incubus on that particular occasion, which suggest that these ghosts can have multiple sexual orientations.
