Sugar is used during ghost hunts to reveal ghoststeps. Place a single layer of sugar on the ground in an area where ghosts are known to walk. Put a sheet of paper over the sugar so that when something solid walks over it the sugar will crunch. Of course, this will only work if the ghost is solid.
