Dowsing rods are long and straight in shape and are usually made of thick wire. The dowser holds a rod in each hand and trains them to his or her vibration by concentrating on influencing the rods to cross over each other to indicate a ‘Yes’ answer and then concentrating on influencing them to part to indicate a ‘No’ answer.
Once the rods are trained to the vibration of the dowser, he or she walks around an area holding the rods out horizontally while concentrating on the task in question. The rods can be used to locate ley lines and psychic epicentres the spots where psychic energy is strongest and, therefore, the possible location of a paranormal entity. The rods will cross over each other when something is located. As well as mapping ley lines, it is also possible to pinpoint under ground streams, as these may be the cause of natural effects, such as cold spots, that might otherwise be wrongly attributed to paranormal activity.
