Broomhill Road

Mr and Mrs Gearing were travelling along Broomhill Road late one night after meeting their friends, when they spotted the figure of a man standing in a dip in the grass verge by the side of the road, but were travelling fast and could not avoid him in time. Convinced they had struck the figure, the shocked couple stopped, got out of the car and went back to investigate. There was no sign of the man and they were both relieved and surprised no one had been hurt. They subsequently discovered there had once stood a large house and a lodge at the point where they had seen the shadowy figure. Apparently, several manifestations had occurred in these buildings scaring away potential purchasers, so they remained derelict for a number of years and eventually had to be demolished.
