Several people, including the prize-winning novelist Rhona Martin, claim to have seen the ghost of a monk patrolling the cloisters attached to Canterbury Cathedral. Ms Martin attended choir school at the cathedral and one day she was walking in the area when a monk passed by her. His head bowed in prayer. At first, she thought he was a real, live monk, except that his passing brought with it a horrible, icy chill. At that moment, the monk vanished. Rhona Martin was finally convinced the monk was a paranormal spectre when other people told her they, too, had seen him.
