Ingro Tunnel

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Company have refurbished the private railway that runs near Keighley in West Yorkshire. They are rebuilding Ingro Station and part of their work is at the Ingro Tunnel on that line. On several occasions black smoke, from a steam locomotive, has been seen emanating from the tunnel at times when no steam locomotives were in the area. On one occasion D. Narey and Arnold Illingworth, investigating the phenomenon, reported that the smoke was blowing out of the tunnel although the breeze was blowing the other way.Northamptonshire |
