Built in Niagara, the Griffin, a sailing ship owned by explorer Robert Cavelier de Lesalle, first set sail on 7 August 1679 on the Great Lakes of North America. On 18 September 1679 it sailed through Green Bay back towards Niagara but was never seen again. Since then, there have been several reports of the ghostly Griffin sailing the Great Lakes over the centuries. America | America | Dundee |
