The Rev. Hi. Fynes-Clinton, Rector of St Magnus the Martyr Church in the City of London (see pp. 68—70 for the church’s own history of hauntings), was a leading light in a society set up to promote public awareness of churches, called the Friends of the City Churches. While addressing a meeting of the society, he saw a parishioner named Newman join the audience in front of him. He was quite surprised as Newman had been seriously ill. When the address was over the rector went to the place where he had seen Newman standing, in order to speak to him, but he was nowhere to be found. It was the following day when he learned that Newman had died 48 hours previously. America | America | Bristol | Devon | Dorset | London | New Zealand | Newcastle-upon-Tyne | Not Known | USA |
