A Professor of Physics at the University of Bristol, Sir Charles Frank, might not be thought of as a typical reporter of the paranormal. However, in a short report to editor Ben Noakes he related the story of his wife’s Finnish grandmother waking in the morning to see her half-brother standing by her bed and telling her that he had come to say goodbye. The grandmother immediately told her husband what had happened; later she received a letter telling her that her half- brother had committed suicide at the same time that she had seen his apparition.
