A celebrated Victorian medium, Daniel Dunglas Home, believed he had paranormal gifts from an early age. When Home was thirteen, his friend Edwin died some distance away from where Home was. Home had a vision of Edwin making three gestures in the air which he believed meant that his friend had been dead for three days. This was precisely correct. (Home also saw the apparition of his mother prior to receiving news of her death.)
