Farmer’s Poltergeist

One of the earliest poltergeist reports occurs in the Annales Fuldenses, a chronicle which dates the event to 858 BC.

A farmer and his family living in a farmhouse near Bingen on the Rhine were apparently the focus of a poltergeist which threw stones, vibrated walls, caused fires, burnt crops and even audibly accused the farmer of a series of sins including having sexual relations with the daughter of one of his foremen.

The poltergeist apparently followed the farmer wherever he went until other people refused to allow him anywhere near their homes.
