The Covenanter Hotel

In the picturesque and historic royal burgh of Faildand in Fife stands the Covenanter Hotel, a building some three or more centu ries old but internally altered considerably over the years. The hotel is the haunt of a female figure who has been seen floating around the bedrooms from time to time. No one can be certain of the iden tity of the woman. Some have claimed that it is the unhappy spirit of Mary Queen of S cots, who lived for a while at nearby Falkiand Palace. The ghost of Mary Queen of Scots, however, is also said to haunt several other places in Scotland. Like the ghost of Bonnie Prince Charlie, Mary’s spirit is one that more sites would like to lay claim to than are credible.
