Comlongon Castle in Dumfriesshire has a green lady ghost that dates from the late sixteenth centur’ She is the tragic figure of Marion Carruthers, who was being coerced into marrying a man she did not love. Having taken refuge at her uncle’s home at Corn longon, she finally despaired of the situation and threw herself from the tower of the castle.
