Ghost researchers know that locations directly on or near ley lines are prone to paranormal events, especially in places where two or more ley lines cross.
These ley-line convergences are called window areas. Magnetic polarities on ley lines seem to be unstable and an investigator can observe this by placing a compass on the ley line or window area. The unusual effect of ley lines on magnetic energy may explain why ghosts seem to dwell at these areas.
Theories as to exactly what ley lines are vary, but one belief is that they are magnetic fault-lines connecting ancient or sacred sites such as religious buildings, burial grounds and wells. Why these sites were built in straight lines is unknown, but the popular theory is that our ancestors were more psychi cally aware of the genius loci — the feeling of a place. The natural energy led our ancestors to believe that these were good places to locate important buildings or religious sites.
Many buildings and locations standing on ley-line intersections have incredibly strong energy fields. If the energy is negative it can cause depression and other adverse degenerative medical conditions. Negative ley line locations also seem to attract evil influences.
On the other hand, positive ley-line locations can perform apparently miraculous events, such as the healing of the sick. They can also benefit those who dwell on, or near them and in many cases simply being at these locations can induce a feeling of euphoria.
Ley lines can be a powerful source of energy for entities attempting to progress through the four stages of manifestation, but ley-line energy flow seems to fluctuate according to many outside influences, including meteorological conditions and natural electrical atmospheres.
