The human brain produces a form of energy, and it is thought that this can be har nessed by a ghost to help it progress through the four stages of manifestation. Witnesses of supernatural phenomena often report feeling tired or drained after the experience, and this is probably because the entity is taking energy from the witness. In some circumstances, a conducive atmosphere for manifestation can be created by having lots of people, par ticularly young people, present. The presence of young people is more conducive possibly because they have a stronger bio-elec tric energy field than older people; this may also explain why children under the age of 10 are more likely to see ghosts than people of other ages. Evidence to support this theory includes a roll of photographic film that was taken at a party in 1997. The photographs show a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 ghost follow ing a child around various rooms. The entity is only visi ble on the photographs in which the child appears as it was latching onto the strongest energy field at the party. Bearing this in mind, it is beneficial when attempt ing a séance or trying to communicate with a presence for a strong energy source to be available for the ghost to use. Investigators can achieve this by getting everyone present to form a circle by linking hands or touching fingers and then asking them to concentrate on the energy flowing through their bodies from left to right. In this human circle, the energy comes from a collective energy source, which lessens the chance of any one person feeling exhausted at the end. Research has also suggested that the presence of a psychic or medium can be beneficial as they seem to have a higher energy field, which is why they some times experience ghosts at stages of manifestation that the average person cannot sense.

Sufferers of epilepsy also seem particularly conducive to paranormal occur rences. During my research, I have explored possible reasons for this and it has been suggested that the brain patterns of an epileptic give off more energy than the brain patterns of a non-epileptic and ghosts are attracted to this potent energy source. This may also be part of the reason why many people with psychiatric problems or who experience high levels of stress seem to induce poltergeist phenomena.
