In a seventeenth-century building in Bridge, once used as a country club, an occupant claimed to see the figure of a maid in old-fashioned dress glide across a room with a large basket in her arms, which she then put onto the floor. Suddenly, both she and the basket disappeared. It is claimed an illicit affair between a previous owner and a maid resulted in the birth of a child who was subsequently murdered and hidden, possibly in the basket.
