Hall Place in Bexley is a fine building dating back to 1470, with additions implemented during the 1600s. Its Jacobean barn is used as a Beefeater restaurant while some of its galleries accommodate local history and art displays. It also has its fair share of ghosts, who are well accommodated in the attics, corridors, panelled chambers and cellars, not to mention a number of secret passages. The last resident of Hall Place (until 1943) was Lady Limerick, a well-known socialite, who was in the habit of phoning for a policeman whenever the ghosts became 'troublesome.
