Glasshoughton

Several years ago Glasshoughton employed an attendant to issue tools to the workforce as and when they need them. At the beginning of one particular shift the tool attendant was approached by a stranger in overalls with a large scar down one side of his face. The attendant greeted him and as he did not recognise him he assumed that he must be a new collier as he turned to get some tools for him he asked him his name the man replied Pete then suddenly disappeared. After the shift was over the attendant told the other men only one man new a Glasshoughton Collier named Pete but he had died a number of years back
