Dear Sir or Madam,
I had a profound ghostly experience last weekend and wanted to tell you about it
(not many people I have told actually believe me and say that my mind was playing
tricks on me!) It is not the first ghostly incident me and several female members
of my family have experienced.
I went to historic York for the weekend and decided to go on The Ghost Trail of York
on the evening of Saturday 26th August 2006. The ghost trail began at 7.30 p.m.
outside York Minster and the guide was Mr Greg Preston, telephone 01904 633276.. I
have been on two or three ghost trails before, but not this one.
The tour ended as
night fell, approximately one and a half hours later and we were standing outside a
little church not far from Bedern before the tour disbanded at The Shambles. Sadly,
I'm unable to tell you the name of the road, but it is the final place the group was
taken to on the tour.
The church was situated at the back of a very pleasant
residential area. As far as I can remember about the history of the church, many
years ago it housed orphans. The man who was supposed to look after the orphans
worked them to death, and in order to save money on food and medicines he threw
their little bodies - dead or dyring - into some kind of cupboard. As we were
standing outside the little church on what was the gravestones of the deceased
children, I felt a small child's hand pulling and grabbing at my right leg. I
ignored this for a moment, but it didn't stop.
The child seemed persistent so I
looked down. There was nothing and nobody there. Then it stopped as the tour
ended. I was wondering if anyone else ever reported this?.
With kind regards
Tina Rogers
