Kilkenny City

The vicinity of St John's Parochial Hall is said to be haunted by the ghost of a tall, thin woman using crutches who wears a long coat, no stockings and has flowing white hair.

A young nurse and a friend saw the figure twice one evening in May, 1969, when they were returning home from a dance.

'The Marble City' is one of the most interesting old towns in Ireland with its dignified eighteenth-century houses, its castle, the River Nore dividing it in two and its cathedral dedicated to St Canice, the sixth-century saint from whom Kilkenny derives its name.A drowning at Downe Court | Beavor | Bexley | Bradford | Downe Court | England | England | England | Hall place | Hardwick Hall | Haworth | Lancashire | Norfolk | Penistone | Pontefract Town Hall | Rotherham | Rotherham | Salford | Scotland | Sheffield | West End | White Lady |
